Weller Counseling
Experiential Mental Health Counseling
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
I know things may feel pretty unmanageable right now. Perhaps you’re finding yourself pulled into every roller coaster mood of your kid or partner, and you’re so overwhelmed with everyone else’s struggles, that you have no time to focus on your own difficulties. You’ve forgotten where you end and they begin.
No matter how angry and stuck your family seems right now, I want you to know that things can change. I also want you to know you don’t have to figure this out on your own.
Maintaining healthy relationships and raising kids is intense! Have you noticed people don’t really talk about the heavy lifting required in family life? We know we’re expected to keep it together, no matter what, but the “how?” is rarely discussed. I work with people who find themselves in this place. Using a mindfulness-based approach that leverages connection, we’ll work together to increase resiliency, repair relationship ruptures, and restore a sense of balance within your family.
About Us
I moved from Atlanta to Asheville in the summer of 2020, to be closer to the mountains and rivers that had been calling me home for many years. Weller Counseling came into being in 2021, offering outdoor-based therapeutic opportunities for clients seeking deeper and more authentic connections to themselves and those around them.
I specialize in working with individuals and families who find themselves at crossroads in their lives, often reporting that high conflict and inner turmoil has damaged their most valued relationships. I help families reconnect with one another from a place of compassion and curiosity, and I work with individuals to strengthen their inner guidance so that their personal crossroad can shift into a launchpad for meaningful growth, versus a crisis to survive.
Merging my training in traditional talk therapy with the experiences gained by becoming a certified ecotherapist and equine-assisted psychotherapist has allowed for a coalescence of my passion and values. As stated beautifully by Eckhart Tolle, the goal of Weller Counseling is to provide an entry point for clients “to experience the strong and profound presence that is found in the natural world, to help awaken that same presence within themselves.”
Education/Training: I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University and a Master of Science from Mercer University. My graduate school training and internship focused on providing individualized and comprehensive mental health support for individuals and families, utilizing a holistic lens. As a private practice clinician licensed in Georgia and North Carolina, I work from a strengths-based perspective that values and honors the uniqueness and wisdom of individuals.
When I’m not working, I can usually be found hiking with my goofy Great Dane Lula, kayaking on the French Broad, or hanging out with my horse Flurry at the barn. I enjoy the eclectic foodie and music scene of Western North Carolina and am thrilled to offer curated connection-based retreats in this special part of the country.
